Ben Sleep - Aug 10, 2023

LinkedIn is a powerful tool for business of all sizes, including trucking companies. While many trucking companies use linkedIn to post photos of their truck or a job opening. Much more can be achieved. Using social media you can begin communicating to your customers what you do, how you do it. But how? Here is a step by step process you can print out and action. You can begin seeing change to your business sooner rather then later!

    WHO ARE YOUR CUSTOMERS?

  1. Defining your customers, first thing is to work out who your customers are. Or perhaps an even better question who would you like your customers to be? Do you work with big corporate companies? young people, older people, business owners, maybe its furniture companies or a logging companies? Write down as many things as you can thing. Ask your drivers ask your office staff get a picture on paper and go back and relook at this on a regular bases.

    WHAT INTERESTS THEM?

  2. Define your strategy, knowing who your ideal customers are begin to compile a list of what they might like. An example of this is a truck driver likes watching videos trailers roll down the hill, or admiring a big rig. But a trucking company might want to show their clients things of interest in their targets audience area. What can you post on social media that your clients or hopeful new clients will want to see. This does not have to be truck related, you want to invade their world with things that they want to see

TELL THEM ABOUT WHAT YOU DO!

  1. Now that you have some eyeballs on you. Its time to throw in some punches. Share about what you do, this is not just about your shinny truck, but rather how you can help. What do you do that might solve their problems? How do you shift their stuff? Where do you shift it to? When do you shift it? Whats your mindset behind it? Break this in to bite sized bits and throw them out there regulatory in small portions.

    ATTENTION GRABBERS

  1. Pictures, headlines, videos comments. Take lots of photos of what you do and post them regularly, when writing an article use a heading that makes people interested. Post a video have a chat, colour, just use anything to grab attention. Copy a video from google of a flashing sign if you have to. You want attention.

    SHARING IS CARING

  2. Share your success stories with your customers. Share about your current customers, share wins, share about how you overcome problems. This gives things for people to connect with. This creates community and a growing fanbase.

    SPEAK UP

  1. Engage with your audience, comment on every thing you can, speak back to those who are showing interest. Find industry specific groups and join them, and other groups where your ideal customers hang out bring value and add to the conversation where ever you can.

    GET GOING

  2. Finally get it going. If your to busy delegate to a staff member or even hire a new employee. But just blocking out a ½ daily slot and make sure you just do one thing, will make a huge difference. Get your marketing train moving. And oh, don't forget to post a picture of your truck of a new driver position. There so much more you can have by being in this game!

Hope that helped and if any one wants to discuss more please contact us. We also have ConNote software for those wanting to step up and expand of move away from so much paper in your trucking company.
